A parte la tossicità dei materiali comunemente utilizzati in un mondo incantato di cui il titanio, il cromo cobalto e la zirconia sono materiali tossici e radioattivi, leggete la verità e fatevene una ragione.

📌Let’s have an uncomfortable conversation, industry. We’re marketing “faster healing,” “immediate load,” and “revolutionary surfaces,” yet are we seeing a silent rise in early failures? Implants that never truly integrate?
It’s not just “bad surgery” or “non-compliant patients.” The problem might be in the very technology we champion.

1. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫-𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐩: In the race for faster bone apposition, are we creating surfaces so aggressively hydrophilic or chemically active that they provoke a chronic, low-grade inflammatory response? The bone comes, then it retreats. It’s a sprint, not a marathon, and the body rejects the rush.
2. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 “𝐎𝐧𝐞-𝐒𝐢𝐳𝐞-𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐬-𝐀𝐥𝐥” 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫: Ultra-short, ultra-narrow implants pushed to their limits in poor bone density. We’re defying physics for commercial convenience. The micro-motion under load exceeds the threshold for osseointegration. It’s not integration; it’s a delayed fracture waiting to happen.
🧠𝐓𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲: Stop selling us speed as the ultimate virtue. Sell us predictable, lasting biology. Where is the 10-year data on these “revolutionary” surfaces? Or are we just the beta-testers for the next product cycle?
🛑𝐓𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬: Our allegiance is to the patient’s bone, not to a brand. Critical thinking is our most valuable skill. Sometimes, the “old” protocol with the “simple” implant, placed with impeccable technique, is the most revolutionary thing we can do.
The goal isn’t just to place an implant. It’s to keep it there for life. Are we still on track?
